When I lived in Mississauga I noticed that there next to no greenroofs in the city. After consulting with local condo and land developers I realized that there isn't much incentive or demand for them. I decided to make an awareness campaign for greenroofing named "Roofscaping Mississauga". I targeted both the developers who make the roofs, and the general public that demand them, focusing on condo developments.The Developers Book
This book will show condo and land developers the benefits of greenroofs, looking into things like costs, how to, benefits, and different kinds of greenroofs.
Roofscaping Website
Even if there are lots of developers willing to make greenroofs, if there is no demand they will never be built. I created a website targeted towards the general public to generate excitement about the idea of greenroofs. The site includes among other things, information about greenroofs, "Roofscaping Globally" where people can see famous green roofs from around the world, and "Roofscaping Locally" which acts as a local forum where people can chat and share information about greenroofs.
Website Advertising Campaign
People needed to know about the website for it to work, so I made a campaign supporting it. Looking at the biggest groups buying condos in Mississauga (new families and older couples whose children have moved out), I carefully chose the best applications that would get my message to my target audience.
